Perennials - Sweet Peas Hi Stan, What do you do with perennial sweet peas in the fall? Do you cut them down to come again by the roots or do you allow them to re-seed? Any help is welcomed.  Cindy Hi Cindy, A Lathrus, or perennial sweet peas, need to ripen down on their vines. Cutting back, but leaving 6 or 8 inches from the ground should be done in early spring.  Hope this helps.
