Hi Stan:
Can you tell me how to get my hibiscus to thrive? It's about 3 feet tall,
but the leaves are small, and the buds always fall off before
they open.
I had it outside last summer, and that seemed to perk it up,
but now that it's back indoors, it doesn't do anything.
You have a very good radio program, and I listen faithfully.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Mary
Mary - Thanks for the comments, I will try to help your disinterested
hibiscus:
Hibiscus plants need lots of natural light, as do the hollyhock
and lavatera. These plants require constant room temperatures,
with adequate watering to maintain a rather large fiberous root
system.
South facing windows are best. As soon as the weather breaks,
continue growing the plant on the patio or stoop, but out of
the wind and extreme heat of the sun. That should do it.
