Hi Stan!
HELP!!!!
We live in Sherwood Park and have 2 beautiful HUGE crab apple trees in our back yard. They are wonderful
in the spring when they are in full bloom. The fruit that produce
is where we have the problem. They are very bountiful trees.
Is there anything that we could use (spray?) on the trees, after
they are done blooming to stop the production of the fruit? We
get probably about 500 lbs of crab apples, and they make a huge
mess in the yard.
Thanks Stan. Any help you can give would
be greatly appreciated.

Diann and Russ - Because the coming of
maturity for so many fruit trees planted some 25 to 35 years
ago, there is a need in some yards to regulate the amount of
fruit set and ultimately the knee high drop of unwanted produce,
a rather expensive thinning out and pruning may be necessary.
It is obvious that this same condition exists elsewhere in the
world, as there is a spray that can be used to cure the problem:
I have no idea where this elixer is available, but only have
the active ingredients for the preparation, not the location
of purchase.
Napthalene actic acid ethephon, or di- Kegulac-sodium.
Thats all the help I can give you, but during my infrequent down
time, will try to locate the stuff.
